Asifa Akhtar new EMBO Member
On May 21, 2013, EMBO announced Asifa Akhtar as a new member. EMBO is a network of excellent researchers with currently about 1500 fellows across the world.
Asifa Akhtar is Director at the MPI-IE and head of the Department Chromatin Regulation.
EMBO members select on an annual basis for some of the most talented scientists in Europe and abroad to join the network. In 2013, 52 new members were elected, 16 of which were female scientists. "It is a great honour being elected to join EMBO", states Asifa Akhtar. EMBO supports talented researchers at all stages of their careers, stimulates the exchange of scientific information, and helps build a European research environment where scientists can achieve their best work.
