Research interestsMy research focuses on the role of transcription factor early B cell factor 1 (Ebf1) in B cell development. Ebf1 is considered the master regulator of B cell development. Knock out studies of Ebf1 and other transcription factors involved with Ebf1 show a block in B cell development at the early pro-B cell stage. These studies suggest that Ebf1 operates in an intricate network of transcription factors that need to be balanced in order to achieve successful B cell differentiation. However the molecular mechanisms that balance this network of transcription factors remains unclear. My project aims to uncover how different factors affect Ebf1 function.
