Cytoskeletal regulation and tissue homeostasis are key processes for the maintenance of health since dysregulation has been linked to immunodeficiencies and cancer. Mast cells are long-lived, tissue-resident innate immune cells that seed most organs of the body. Furthermore, they feature a great inflammatory potential e.g., by causing serious allergic reactions. The aim of my PhD is to understand the cytoskeletal regulation regarding the complexity of mast cell tissue homeostasis in context to inflammatory responses.
