Curriculum Vitae
Prerna completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in Biology at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali in India. During her master's thesis in the Kliza lab at the MPI for Molecular Physiology, she worked on developing a novel tool to study the role of chromatin ADP-ribosylation during physiological processes such as DNA repair and neural stem cell differentiation. She joined the Epimetabolism lab as a IMPRS doctoral student in December 2025, where she studies how the interplay between epigenetics and metabolism regulates early brain development.
Outside the lab, she enjoys reading, listening to music, spending time with her family and friends, and keeping up with tennis news. Every once in a while, she also likes taking a solo day trip near Freiburg.
