Physician and immunologist John O’Shea, who is the scientific director of the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) as well as Chief of the Molecular Immunology and Inflammation Branch at the National Institute of Health (NIH), Bethesda, USA takes part in the Special Guest Lecture Series of the Max Planck Freiburg. John O' Shea will speak on the topic of “Genomic Views of Lymphocyte Differentiation and Activation”. Jens Brüning is Director at Max Planck Institute for Metabolism Research, Cologne, Germany. He and his research group on “Neuronal Control of metabolism” is interested to unravel the fundamental regulatory principles of how neurons sense nutritional cues and then to determine the neurocircuitry responsible for the coordinated adaptation of behavioral and autonomic outputs. Prof. Dr. Jens Brüning will visit the Max Planck in Freiburg on October 5th, 2017. In the Main Lecture Hall of the institute he will speak on “Inflammatory signaling in obesity and metabolic disease”. The talk starts at 1pm. [more]
