My thesis investigates how lipid metabolism supports tissue regeneration in the Drosophila wing imaginal disc. It focuses on how lipids from the fat body are mobilized and used during healing. Using imaging, lipidomics, and genetics, I track lipid species and their roles in repair. Results show systemic lipid changes that support regeneration. Key transcription factors, SREBP and Hnf4, regulate lipid dynamics and energy balance. Hnf4 promotes cell survival through beta-oxidation, while loss of SREBP disrupts lipid and ceramide homeostasis. This study reveals how metabolic responses are coordinated during tissue repair.
