On Friday Science Afternoons at the MPI-IE usually a group leader of the institute presents his/her research to the internal audience. But this time the MPI-IE is pleased to announce Prof. Dr. med. Lutz Hein, Professor and Chair at Institute of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology, Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg.
Prof. Hein is a pharmacologist and toxicologist. His current research foci are the epigenetics of chronic heart failure as well as transcriptional control in chronic heart failure and cardiac recovery. He succeeded in deciphering the epigenetic code of cardiac myocyte transcription and revealed the pharmacological functions of G-protein-coupled receptors in the sympathetic and renin-angiotensin systems.
Prof. Hein will give a talk on the “Dynamics of the cardiomyocyte epigenome in development and disease”.
The talk is open to members of other institutions in Freiburg and surroundings.
