The Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics in Freiburg, Germany invites applications from outstanding scientists in the fields of chromatin and epigenetic research for the position/s of a Director/Directors.

A Max Planck Director pursues a bold research agenda in his/her own independent department and lead the institute jointly with fellow directors. Applicants should have achieved internationally recognised distinction and ideally their work complements the current epigenetic research departments (see https://www.ie-freiburg.mpg.de/723235/Focus-Epigenetics)

Core criteria are scientific and scholarly excellence, an innovative, unique and visionary research programme, and personal and intellectual leadership. We are looking for the strongest and most creative scientists worldwide, and we offer an international and excellent research environment, outstanding infrastructure and competitive long-term scientific funding.

Applications must include a letter of intent, a curriculum vitae, a publication list, reprints of three to five selected publications, a concept statement outlining the structure and long-term, visionary research agenda of the proposed department.
