Equal opportunities

Equal opportunities

The Max Planck Institute for Immunobiology and Epigenetics in Freiburg (MPI-IE) stands for excellent science in fundamental biological research. Excellent science not only requires outstanding scientific talent and creativity but also diversity. The MPI-IE supports colleagues with diverse experiential backgrounds and fosters their work and career development in accordance with their respective needs, regardless of gender, nationality, religion, disability, age, cultural background or sexual identity.

This diversity of perspectives, experiences and abilities is the foundation of our scientific success, and at the same time the basis for the institute’s appeal as a modern research location in Germany.

Internationality

Two of our main focuses within the realm of equal opportunity are helping create a work/life balance and fostering young scientists. This includes, in particular, supporting female scientists who would like to start both a career and a family.
