Haematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) are critical for regeneration and life-long maintenance of blood cell homeostatic turnover, owing to their multipotent differentiation potential and self-renewal ability. It is however still largely unknown how the haematopoietic system is developed and matures during embryonic development. In my PhD project, I aim to characterise the molecular signatures of the mouse HSPC developmental niches using single cell RNA sequencing, complemented with spatial transcriptomic techniques, to predict the signalling relationship between HSCs and niche components. These would then be validated by functional experiments.
