Research interests
Mast cells (MC) are tissue resident innate immune cells that are important for the recruitment of immune cells to sites of infection and play a crucial role during allergy and anaphylaxis. They are localized in body sites close to the external environment, such as the skin. For their homeostasis, mast cells require different regulatory factors. The goal of my PhD will be to decipher the regulatory factors that are important for mast cells to survive and be functional, both on the single cell and population level.
