4th Max Planck Epigenetics Meeting
The international meeting on the broad area of epigenetics and chromatin takes place on November 30th - December 2nd, 2016, at the MPI-IE in Freiburg.

With the establishment of the “Epigenetic Focus” at the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics (MPI-IE), an international meeting on the broad area of epigenetics and chromatin was introduced at the institute. The three-day meeting takes place every second year in the 1st week of December.

The Max Planck Epigenetics Meeting has become a central conference in the field of epigenetics and chromatin. Organized by Asifa Akhtar and Thomas Jenuwein, three meetings took place in 2010, 2012 and 2014 and another one is scheduled for 2016. The talks are given by 20 invited speakers plus 15 speakers that are selected from the abstracts.

The program also features a keynote lecture by a Max Planck Director from a different institute, e.g. the vice-president of the Max Planck Society Herbert Jäckle (2010), Stefan Jentsch (2012) and Hans Schöler (2014). About 120 scientists participated in previous meetings and about 60 posters were presented.
